Personal Experiences And Entrepreneurial Drive

At a young age, Mike's mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's that grew worse over several decades. This experience instilled the importance of planning for the unexpected and the Jones team builds this philosophy into every one of our client's financial plans.

Mike grew up in a family business that his grandfather built from scratch. This helped build his business instincts. He started and expanded a successful landscape services business at age 12, selling the business at age 20 in order to participate in a financial services internship at Northwestern Mutual during his junior and senior years at college. That was his eureka moment and impetus to launch a solo advisory practice. Mike understood the importance of successfully navigating the complexities inherent in being a business owner, including managing regulations and taxes, navigating the increased scrutiny by third parties, and pursuing excellence in personal service.

Today, Mike leads an expert team based in Golden, Colorado, where he planted a permanent flag by building a world-class building in 2014 for clients to visit.

Married for over 20 years to his wife Becki, Mike has a daughter Maci and a son Blake. He loves skiing with his family and fishing/hunting with his dad. He also enjoys playing tennis and is a big fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Avalanche.
